Associate – Senior Expert Nuclear Transport
Pierre holds an Engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Paris.
Pierre is a seasoned expert in nuclear handling and transport of nuclear materials, (spent) fuel and specific nuclear equipment across the globe, being it by route, rail, sea, or air. He is actively involved in all technical, regulatory and operational aspects of such nuclear transports. He provides a significant contribution to the development of IAEA Safety Standards dealing with the transport of radioactive material.
He is the current chair of the advisory committee of experts for transport, which is consulted by the French Competent Authority (ASNR) as necessary.
Pierre was Head of Transport of Radioactive Material Design, Safety and Security unit at AREVA (now ORANO and Framatome) in charge of transport of radioactive material, design and licensing of transport system, safety, regulatory issues, relations with national competent authorities (regulations, licensing, inspection, emergency preparedness and response, reporting of events), and international bodies (IAEA, ISO, etc.) (regulations, standardization, etc).
